The fitting was quick and the installer was very tidy and polite. Smooth process from start to finish.

Installation and organisation was speedy and easy, however they didn’t dispose of the waste, and instead left a pile of building rubbish (off cuts, bits of old glue and door, etc) in a pile in my back garden, which I then had to dispose of myself. The waste they DID throw away, they threw into my kitchen bin, leaving my whole house smelling strongly of solvents.

The customer service team in particular Robyn were very helpful and informative, they addressed our queries promptly.

The whole window process from quote to installation was quick and well done.

Very nice office staff, but none of the fitters seem to know what was going on.

Great door and triple glazed side window fitted. Pity triple glazing on the door element was not available to match the side window.

There was a minor error but that does not matter, it happens in all walks of life. It’s the speed of rectification that counts and they sorted it in just over a week.
I gave used two other companies, one no longer trading (no surprise), the other a nationwide business who failed miserably and will not be used again.
Polar Bear Windows did an excellent job and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

After sales service was not as good as before the sale

If they�re not going to turn up it would be considerate to let the customer know beforehand. Hoping that the customer won�t notice a defect is not very helpful. Aside from that, they did put things right in the end . The finish around the outside of the door could have been better. They filled the gaps with sand and cement but it was the wrong colour it should have been mixed with red brick colour which I have now had to go out and buy and fill myself. Saying all of this though I probably would use them again .

The installers were very efficient and install our new doors with no problems. They respected our home and did a fantastic job of installing the new door entry way.Polar Bear windows were easy to communicate with and they kept me updated on my order and and installation of our doors.The new doors finish off the front of our house and look brilliant.

Great from start to finish. The salesman, Glenn, the installer, Craig, and the lady at the office, who’s name I can’t remember, were all lovely. Straightforward. Good value.

The work wasn’t registered at the time it was done so they’ve had to backdate the certification after I raised the lack of a certificate. Also we had to scrape a lot of foam filler off ourselves afterwards at the side of the doors.

The door itself was fitted very well but some of the finishing – tidy application of sealant and making good of small amount of plaster that came away – had to be remedied afterwards by a second visit. This is the third time we have used them. The products are good as is the customer service. There was no argument with them about the finishing being remedied. No problems with previous work done by them. I would use them again.

I would recommend them, but I would advise that we did have multiple delays due to being provided incorrect installation date, and then the manufacturer built the door wrong so it could not be installed on the second date. Third time was a charm though.The goodwill gesture due to the errors and delay (the process was started in January) was a joke, initially �100 deducted, then upped to �150 when asking if the �100 was a joke.I paid the final amount to just get it finalized.The staff though in the customer service and the installers were lovely though and nothing against them.

Though the customer service person was polite, and the installer doing his best, the overall impression of Polar Bear Windows (PBW) is negative. I’m still waiting for the installation to be completed, nearly a month from the first date planned for installation. I ordered two new windows and both frames were supplied too large, meaning the window apertures have had to be enlarged with an angle grinder. The work carried out was done to a professional standard. Because of a small part of the installation was not available at the time of the installation the job was not completed at the initial fit. Subsequent dates to complete the fit were missed with one giving no notice that the fitter would not be arriving. Firms need to contact customers that the planned visit is not to be made for whatever reason, so that the customer can make other arrangements rather than wait around for someone who is not going to turn up. Lesson to be learnt, better communication with customer.

There was a scratch inside one of the units installed which the installer pointed out to me. He had already ordered a new one which was soon delivered and replaced. Excellent service from the whole team.

It took many visits to get everything right, as they didn’t have the correct size trickle vents on install, or on the subsequent two visits. They installed the wrong type of sills and had to come back to refit everything, over two separate visits. My tilt and turn window wouldn’t close at all after I opened it to test the install, and it took them a week to come and fix it, even though my house was completely insecure with a ground floor window that wouldn’t close during this time (and it was cold!). The contractors consistently turned up outside the time windows given. The install was delayed

The windows look and are good. The window into the brick wall was finished well and complete.The window in the spar finish needed to be repaired, this took time to complete and the look and finish could be improved.

Certainly workmanship rather than craftsmanship with a scruffy finish around the lower closure trim on the frame and a very poor repair to damaged plaster/render to one side of the wall aperture. Over-use of shiny flexible filler to “make good” including on walls that were clearly still waiting to be decorated.

Wasn’t told that the frames were thicker on the new frames had to get them back to remove patio doors and refit 20 mm into the house at an additional cost of �200 surveyor nor anyone else told me that the frame was a different thickness When they measured up.

Always keep you well informed

Had previous work done 5 years ago including bathroom window, the lock on this window has now broken and window cannot be opened. I was told I would have to pay �120 for repair. It now appears that locks are covered by guarantee for 10 years, cannot understand why I have to pay for my repair. Not good publicity.

Polar Bear windows in their own right are very good but i had multiple problems from minor missing bits to major wrong products being fitted that took 6+ months to sort.All the problems i incurred were due to the Supplier that PBW. The supplier if ruining PBW reputation.

Absolute farce. It took 7+ visits; the first visits successfully caused more damage in an effort to make good on previous damage. The glass was replaced due to scratches twice. It’s absolutely humiliating for everyone involved.

Multiple issues experienced due to there not being a trickle vent installed in the door from the start according with regulations, then with an attempt to remedy this by Polar Bear by drilling holes into the sash which looked entirely unprofessional. However customer service was always responsive and after multiple visits this was rectified. Currently waiting for a response regarding missing hinge caps on the door and another they have installed earlier this year.

We have only had the door fitted just over a week but so far we are very pleased with it.

We had a number of snags that stayed open for weeks. Main reason is that local customer services could not get answers from senior management.Local customer services most helpful

First Class Company from start to finish

The communication between Installations Admin, and the Fitters should require improvement. As there was miss communication between the two, and the installation visit was carried out on the third re, scheduled date. Otherwise the Fitters were very professional and the installation went well.

The Polar Bear team are friendly and helpful and the product is good value for money. They don�t use any pressured selling techniques and we felt they were customer focused. We are happy with the end result and would have scored higher however there were several unfortunate errors which resulted in delays (the installation took several visits over a couple of months to complete) which we had to arrange to be home for etc, these errors were avoidable and a result of lack of attention to detail in terms of admin and preparation. Hopefully PB will address this as we imagine they lost a fair bit

Me and family have used them before but after having the door installation changed 4 times I don’t think id recommend them again which is sad as the door and workmanship were great.

Superb installation, done in timely manner, much better to have nice upvc than rotten wooden frame. Bit unusual that installer noticed transom was missing at end of installation, and this was somehow missed on the original quotation.

For context, I generally don�t write reviews and could count on one hand the negative reviews I�ve ever left. However, we feel so let down by Polar Bear that I would be remiss if I didn’t give feedback on what we�ve had to go through. Note: Some issues were caused by PB�s supplier and bad weather. All work done on this project was well executed from initial contact, through design to installation and follow on. The installers were very personable and worked well. We are extremly happy with having had this done by a very good company.

Polar Bear operated professionally and so far the product is meeting our expectations. Where the service was let down was in the approach of the installers, who did a poor job making good around the window frames, didn�t clean up after themselves properly, left all plastic labels on the outside of one of the windows, and didn�t show much consideration for the fact we were trying to work in the house at the same time.

Poor communication between admin, install and warehouse teams. Took longer than initially told as products hadn’t been delivered. Fitters turning up without full information resulting in frames being left behind in the warehouse and waiting for them to be delivered. Fitters were brilliant and completed to a high standard so shame about the problems with the office team!

Whist the customer service staff were responsive, the attitude of the two workmen who did the installation fell short. They played loud music, left bits of rubble in my garden and didn’t clean up. They made a huge hole in my wall requiring a plasterer to finish it off and failed to communicate this with. When I asked the about the holes, I was told that I needed to call customer services to arrange a plasterer to come back. Whilst each individual was helpful, there was communication problems between departments which caused delay and confusion. I would not use them again for this reason.

Would of been nice if I was contacted week before to say that thy wouldn’t be able to put in patio door due to issues

Caused structual damage that they were unwilling to accept responsability for.Smashed brand new bathroom sink during installation and took 1 year to rectify the damage caused and had to be persistently chased to adress the issue, they attempted on multiple occasions to avoid conducting repairs despite accecpting responsibility for the damage.

I would because of their fitters but not for the office customer service.

It can be difficult to get hold of anybody in the office.Not enough dust sheets put down inside when smashing windows, therefore glass shards left over surfaces.Contractor reversed into front porch causing damage and then proposed that he didnt. Office response was sub par.

The reliability rating relates to multiple people being involved, rather than one installer on the occasions they had to return, and some of the work not being done initially due to communication issues within the company.We had a problem with cat flap installation but they resolved this well and we are very satisfied and would definitely recommend company to others

I’ve been generally happy with the products installed by PolarBear, but the only reason I’ve given the product suitability a 7 is that the aluminium frame for our patio doors is suffering from a chronic condensation issue. Polar Bear has been unable to resolve this and has referred the matter to their supplier.

My experience with Polar Bear Windows hasn’t been a good one. Communication was very poor and the work standards were appalling.

A couple of items (caps for the edges of the roof) were not fitted despite contractor informing the tenants they would be back to fix this. When we asked them to do so they informed us there would be a “call out charge” to fix something that should have been done originally, and demanded photos before they would discuss this further. Very quick to insist on payment, despite the job not being thoroughly completed at the outset.

Overall really happy with the work by PB windows.

It has taken over 6 months for the work to be completed and damage on the frames and glass created during installation to be fixed. Workman not turning up for appointments, no one ringing ahead to check we are in, no window of time given. We have had to CONSTANTLY chase them to have the work done etc. Absolutely will not be recommending them to anyone we know after the unnecessary stress the whole situation has caused.

Problems with staff sickness made job more difficult for contractor. They kept me informed throughout.
