This is the second time that Blackthorn have completed work in our home. They are top class.

Excellent workmanship – cannot be faulted. Every care was taken to minimise dirt and disruption, the windows fitted perfectly and required no beading and minimal internal remediation regarding decor.

An excellent job all round. Blackthorn Timber Windows fitted some replacement windows for us several years ago and based on the quality of the products, workmanship and service we had no hesitation in getting them back to replace our remaining outdated windows and refurbish our dormer window. Highly recommended.

My only observation is that their customer facing interaction could be better. There should be occasional updates as to workshop progress and an early indication of when they hope to start work – we got an email Friday saying can we come Monday. People do have lives. Email responses felt a bit abrupt which could do with smoothing out. To be honest a series of draft ‘set responses’ would help, and wouldn’t take that much work to set up. But, overall, an excellent company. Very professional.

We contracted with Blackthorns to replace old casement windows with Georgian sash windows in a listed building. The work required installing stone mullions before installing the new windows and we chose Blackthorns as they were able to project manage the whole job and could provide the detail information to obtain listed building consent.We are delighted with the outcome and the windows look fabulous. We were impressed with the quality of the new windows and in the care taken in the installation and finishing off.

Product proposed is excellent.Installation team excellent.Coronavirus occurred exactly at end of installation meaning snagging could not be carried out immediately, supplier agreed to 10% retention until snagging completed. At soonest allowed date, team returned to complete work.

Blackthorn Timber have treated us really well; throughout the assesment and design phase as well as installation and aftercare. I would definitely recommend them. The doors look great and have definitely made the house feel warmer.

Perhaps keep customers better informed about when the work is likely to be carried out, with more notice. Also give an accurate time for when the fitters will arrive to do the installation.

A bit more contact from the contractor would have been helpful to keep us up to date on how the process was progressing. It was a long time between ordering and installation.
