The Pears team have been very approachable and helpful in providing our new sash windows. They also worked with the window manufacturer to resolve a problem with excessive drafts around the sashes and finished very small trim details without quibble.

SOME ISSUES WITH QUALITY OF GLAZING UNITS INSTALLED - MANUFACTURING ERRORS

It has been necessary to recall the installer on numerous occasions to make adjustments to the small openers. One opener is still to be adjusted.

Agreed to recommended product and discussed particular requirements in making good after installation especially rendering around windows. Wasn't happy with repairs to damage around window frames and subsequently employed another contractor to carry out repairs internally. Found the customer service approach rather confrontational when issues arose. The installers dropped off their standards of keeping their work areas tidy and were frequently hanging around waiting for the right materials to be ordered/delivered. Disappointingly found the experience of having double glazing installed a lot more stressful and upsetting than I expected. I learned a lot though in terms of how I would approach any further work on my windows and appreciate the need to confirm expectations before signing up.

Unfortunately on the day the door was fitted it was damaged.
A survey was carried out and a replacement was ordered.
Pears were experiencing problems with their suppliers so the replacement took quite some time.
So from start to finish the process , 3/11/22 till 27/1/23.
Communication from Pears was good and they acted professionally.
I was just disappointed that it took so long but am now pleased with the finished result.

Not sure where the issue lies, with the contractor or the product it's self. The front door was chipped, and now has been touched up with paint and one panel already has moisture in between glass due to poor seal.

Plus, the back window had to be replaced after 1 year due to being warped.
Total 3 issue with one small job. I think your questionnaire should ask the question about the product, not just about the contractor. I think the product is letting things down here. I scored 5 for suitability, because I would not use this brand again

The fitter who came to install our door was impeccable in manner and workmanship. The job was done quickly and to a high standard without any problems whatsoever. We have been very happy with our new front door and it is completely airtight.

Extremely pleased with the service we have received from Pears Home Improvements.
From the initial enquiry regarding a quotation, the answering of all questions we had re the suitability of the window types, the time taken to explain/demonstrate various options in the showroom, and finally the two installers who carried out the work we couldn't have been more pleased. Base on our experience we wouldn't hesitate to reccomend Pears Home Improvements.

There were some issues with the date for installation being pushed back several times - and this wasn't always clearly communicated. However, the workmen themselves were polite, friendly, efficient and maintained the highest standards.

There were a number of issues that had to be resolved and which were resolved by Pears but which shouldn't have arisen in the first place. I have included the main points below:
The fitters damaged a number of roof tiles on the roof below a dormer window. I wasn't informed of the damage at the time which meant that when there was a heavy rain, water came into the house.
The office contact seemed to have no awareness that horizontal/vertical DPC membranes are required for windows where there is a cavity walls and horizontal DPC is best practice when even no cavity wall
A number of window panes where put in the wrong way round
I would have liked advice/options for achieving an A+ energy rating rather than just A but didn't think about it until friend mentioned it too late for me

The first contractor persuaded me to have extra trims to cover up gaps between window and sills. These were unnecessary and were later corrected by Pears and my own builder. Unfortunately more damage to the walls were made in applying and then removing these trims.

Communication between office/suppliers/fitters/customer needs approving. Also, orders need to be checked before sending to manufacturer and items supplied to showroom need to be checked against original order before fitters collect them.

However, errors were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction.

The communication between the office /suppliers /fitters/ customer not very good. Needs improving. Some items received from the manufacturer should have been checked by Pears against the original order before being released to the fitters.
Where the customer has made a specific request this needs to be checked and re-checked before being sent out to the manufacturer. However, once errors and poor communication were pointed out, they were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction.

Poor communication between the office and the installation team. Quite a few missed / no show appointments to rectify minor issues.

A 2 week install that actually took over 12 months to complete. Installers were great but the whole process was tainted by the inefficiencies and inadequacies in other parts of Pear home improvements.

The job was completed in good time and very well overall. As the fitters were self employed, it sometimes felt they weren't really working as a team.

Brilliant job start to finish, top quality materials and I couldn’t have had better fitters, Tim and Dan. They were clean, tidy, puntual, hard working and I would trust them 100% nothing was too much trouble.
Carly from the office was brilliant in every way with communications, and I would recommend Pears without any hesitation at all.
