This is based on the second contractors that came to re-fit our door as we and Malbern weren’t happy with the first contractors and their workmanship.

Installer Chris Gilbert was easy to get on with and very professional. He needed to work outside in very cold weather for over two hours to ensure that the standard of finish was high. Mandy at the Malbern office was courteous and efficient throughout.

Worked to a high professional standard. Some delay due to an external component supplier.

They have done a really good job and my project was not straight forward. They ensured I was completely happy at all times. They were friendly and respectful.

We’ve overall been very happy- it was a big job and the team have been great. The main issues we experienced were with silicone and some tiny shavings visible inside the panels which had to be exchanged a few times and this was done. The appearance of the windows look better than we could have expected particularly the flush sashes at the front of the house.

The bricklayer, David did a really good job in cutting through the brickwork to create an opening ready to take the new window frame. He installed a lintel over the opening ensuring that our building structure was not damaged. Tony installed the window frame and units the next day leaving our home neat and tidy. The following day Luke arrived to plaster around the window and he again carried out the work to a high standard.

Malbern did an excellent job installing my front door. They also previously did a great job installing all my front windows.

The process of purchasing my windows and front door with surround, was simple from the initial meeting with the Malbern Windows representative to the fitting.
The fitters, James & Adam did a great job. The windows and front door (with included part glazed surround) look great. They have really improved the ‘pavement appeal’ of my house.
James and Adam were very respectful and polite, they did a really good job of cleaning up their job area on the 2 days it took to install the units.

Had initial problems with Door installation and with closure but Malbern sent out an Engineer to rectify quickly

The first set of installers were very polite, very tidy. The second were competent but left a hell of a mess inside and dirty smear marks in the caulk. By the end of the install I just wanted everybody to leave. My bay windows were measured incorrectly, with 5 panels instead of 6. My front door was delivered with paint defects that had to be fixed. The first glass for the bifolds “failed quality checks”. Then the bifold was installed stacking the wrong way (not the installers fault) and I was told basically I was to blame as I had signed the paperwork, but the surveyor had messed everything up and the sales guy confirmed I had asked for it to be the other way. In the end I accepted a miniscule discount just for the ordeal to be over. Liam and Sean tried their best to leave me happy but it was a nightmare start to finish and so no, I wouldn’t recommend, which is a shame as the products are good value for money.

We have used Malbern Windows before, and have always been happy with the standard of work. My only complaint is lack of communication. I had an appointment for the window to be fitted between 8.30am and 9.30am. They didn’t arrive, so when I phoned Malbern I was told we were for later in the day. Why not contact us. Had to change installation day, as it was unsuitable.

On the original appointment day to install the window only one contractor attended. It was assessed as a two man job. I then had to rearrange another appointment time which was inconvenient as I had to wait in for both days. However the work was completed quickly and efficiently.

I Received excellent service throughout from Malbern. From first meeting Joe who gave me a very competitive quote to dealing with Caroline who organised a fitting day that suited me to finally meeting the fitters Niall & Tony who did a great job fitting the windows & leaving my home clean & tidy.

The actual door fitter himself was very good. The salesman did not make it clear that the price we were paying included a door knocker, letter box, door handle etc – whether we choose to have these items, or not. The door trim was not ready by the door installation date (that’s why I’ve put a low mark for reliability) and it was a few weeks before I was able to have the door fitting completed. I’m disappointed with the door colour – in the brochure it looked much brighter than it is in real life.

The work was not completed correctly and the contractor had to return to complete parts of the installation that should have been done on the first visit. The standard of plastering that has been done around the window installation is so poor I will have to employ another plasterer to correct the work. I would not recommend Malbern and won�t be using them again.

The process of ordering my windows to installation was easy!. The advisor explained options that may be suitable for me, the surveyor who came to do the final fitting measurements was very helpful and explained new regulations and the fitters did an excellent job. I�d have no hesitation in recommending Malbern Windows and their prices are very competitive.

Very smooth process from start to finish

The installation engineer was really good. Turned up on time and completed the job to a high standard. The sales person let me down twice for pre arranged appointments and didn’t seem to know what was going on. He even called me to follow up the sale after I’d already placed the order and had an installation date.It would be good if it would be possible to place an order over the phone after measurements having been during the first appointment taken rather than making another appointment.

Unfortunately not the smooth experience I�d hoped for when being recommended. The house incurred a lot of hiccups and eventually Malbhern did over come them and the final job is lovely however I was informed that the Survey missed vital information and the installation took 3x amount of time it was meant too, incorrect glass was fitted, unfinished job ie the cover sills and had to remind them to come fit them with missed/poor communication from team, poor time keeping from workmen due to arriving late mornings and would leave some early afternoons.

Individuals were very pleasant, did a great job and also cleaned up after themselves, including outside.

Product recommended is far too heavy and difficult to move. Handles fitted are inadequate to the task and will fail, they bend the plastic when you try to move the door. The fitter’s answer was to push the frame! Not even possible on the outside.

We have used Malbern in the past with no problems. This job the standard of workmanship and the mess they left our property inside and out was disgusting way below the standards of a professional company . We had to have management visit us in order to get things rectified .

customer service was excellent. Sadly windows were incorrectly measured leaving big gaps which the initial fitters tried to cover up. My Husband forcefully complained and the surveyor came out and remeasured, we then had the same problem. The actual windows we are pleased with but it did cause us some inconvenience, feel sorry for the fitters if the surveyor cannot measure a job properly. They did at least put it right but I am unsure how we would have been left if my Husband hadn’t insisted it was sorted initially. Difficult to give great feedback given these circumstances. However cannot fault any dealings with contractors staff, they were all very pleasant and helpful.

We had to use our own company workforce to finish some of the window installations, as Malbern workers were on and off the job.After an emergency meeting because of our ongoing concerns with the delays and workmanship, Wayne, Malbern Owner, got directly involved to complete the work.We have used many Contractors for multiple building contracts and Malbern are definitely one of the worst.

Customer service was polite and friendly but the initial sales pitch of being supplied within 6 weeks was missed by 3 additional weeks. It seemed like nothing had been progressed with the manufacturer until week 5 when we were still being asked fundamental questions about door style. Nevertheless, once we got passed this hickup, the team facilitated our multiple check ins, though some times we expected call backs and didn’t receive. Doors are great and came with extra features that we wanted, but didn’t think we’re inherently possible.

It felt like a part time job trying to contact them to get the job done. Didn’t turn up on numerous occasions and always had to tell them the mistakes they had made; eg. could fit my hand under the bottom of the door as not mortared at all, loose bricks.

The fitting, quality and price of the job were pretty good but I was told three different fitting dates before they actually turned up and the reason for them missing one date turned out to be a lie.

One or two unfortunate problems with the instillation but these were sorted out to my satisfaction. The customer service was excellent and the workmen very polite and obliging.

Need to check thoroughly that everything had been done as we had to ask the contractors to return as we could see daylight between the bottom of the door and the beading, this was quickly rectified later in the day with silicone sealant.

Efficient and helpful

Poor workmanship wrong size frames for doors and window and foam filled with huge gaps and broken brick which they just left a hole in the outside wall not cemented or plated just left it and told to sing the form they filled the gaps with plastic pieces.

Although there were issues with initial survey which resulted in incorrect size window being ordered, we are happy overall.

Was told the installation would take 3-4 weeks. It took over 10 weeks and still wasn’t complete. I had to chase them for an updated, they were not proactive in letting me know changes in installation times.

It was quite hard to contect them and they did not return messages, but when they finally came it was a very pleasing result.

I have rang several time and emailed to provide the door hinge cover which was missing. The door is making noise cringe noise when opening and closing. I have not had any reply back. Also silicone to side of the door is coming off.

I would recommend Malbern as a company, but they need to re-access the Builders they contract out to. Other than the outside contractor builder spoiling the marks I have given above, I would HIGHLY recommend Malbern. The customer service was second to non, although I think they got fed up of me nearer to the end of the job!
