We feel our enquiry was dealt with honestly and efficiently, and we were not ‘misled’ about what could be achieved. Our new front door is a huge improvement, and the work was carried out with attention to detail. The fitters were polite, consulted us when necessary and did a good, tidy job.

Few hiccups regarding the install but we got there in the end very pleased with front door.
We have used the contractor to fit new windows throughout the house a few years ago, followed by a new conservatory with a ‘living roof’. We will also use them for a new rear garage door.

Communication with CTG is extremely difficult. Call backs are non existent.

Damage incurred on bathroom grouting and not resolved. Company offered £100 discount which won’t cover the regrouping all around the bathroom window. Shame as the rest was done well.

From the first contact, I felt they were professional. The initial surveyor was able to explain the options to me and the overall look. The second surveyor was able to recommend the best options for the kind of fitting I wanted.
The fitters were great, arrived at stated time and competed the job swiftly and efficiently. The fitting was quicker than I anticipated. They respected my property and cleaned up after.

i already have on the QR code the day the door was installed.
The surveyor measured the door wrongly and so it could not open due to hitting a radiator. We were assured it would be sorted as a priority by the fitter but it took a week before a plumber came and shifted the heater along a cm so we could actually use the door again. He still needs to come back ‘in a few weeks’ and properly move it, re soldering pipes etc when the whole heating system will need to be drained. It was near impossible to get a response from CTG as we were waiting; tried phoning, emailing, messaging. The door itself is lovely but, maybe they’re short staffed, I would expect to be kept informed and not have to chase and chase.
I have marked the installation down on tidiness. The install team did the best they could with the tools provided, but did not have a vacuum cleaner to help with the clear up afterwards – we found one guy using a dustpan and brush to collect debris, which had the effect of brushing the dust and smaller particles into the carpet.
We put down dust sheets ahead of the install to protect our expensive and relatively new carpets, but these inevitably got kicked and blown out of place when the old doors were removed. When we have had other big install projects, eg a wardrobe installed, the installer was equipped with a film to protect the carpet – this would be a great suggestion for your guys to put a strip of this down to ensure that there is no risk to carpets (or other flooring) adjacent to patio doors etc.
Regarding Customer Service – my marking down in this area relates to one aspect: I particularly asked that the glass on one of the patio doors be the same size as previously, to enable refitting of Tru-fit blind. However, when it was installed it was clear that the glass was smaller in both dimensions. it would have been very helpful if, finding that this was NOT possible to have advised me in advance of the glass size so that I could liaise with the blind supplier in a timely manner. Otherwise all communications with you were good.

The door was tidily installed, but the wired door bell could not be repositioned as the materials used were still wet. This was disappointing and inconvenient. The Company has arranged, at my request, for the door bell to be sorted out and the door stop moved as the new door is smaller. I actually door is very nice and I am pleased with it. I would recommend CTG Windows in the future.
Installers were great. Only one issue, would of liked to be informed prior to installation which company were going to fit my door. I was surprised to see a different company turn up ad my contract was with CTG Windows but Rodda and Hocking turned up.
The order was completed but had some issues.
One of the two sliding doors arrived on site but had been manufactured to the wrong size.
The replacement slider did arrive on site on the agreed date but not until 5.00pm.
The workmanship for the install was fairly good.
The front composite door needed to be adjusted by the service technician in order to open / close properly. The door locking system was different to what we were expecting.

Top quality job on my Edwardian house, from CTG Windows and installed with a lot of care and attention to detail. Highly recommend.
Communication was poor. First window fitted had faulty joints but the fitters fitted it and then we had to raise this as an issue. CTG came to try and repair it and in the end, decided to replace it. Communication during this process was poor. The fitters damaged our garage roof and didn’t say anything.
We’ve used CTG twice before and its been a good experience but wouldn’t use them again or recommend.
The build up was all really good – we had a few emails giving us details of the doors and how to make the payments and a date was quickly arranged for the installation. On the day of installation, the cill was miscut. This wouldn’t have been a problem if the follow-up service was strong. Unfortunately, the original fitters didn’t tell us about the miscut on the Friday, so we had to initiate things ourselves because it did not look right. We were told that fitters would come round to sort the issue the following Monday, which sounded great, but they never arrived and we were not called to tell us anything. We rang to find out what had happened and were told that they didn’t have a new cill and it could take up to a week to arrive. After a few more phone calls to check progress, a new cill did arrive and it was reinstalled around two weeks after the date we were originally given. Towards the end, we spoke to Rachel and she was great at keeping us informed, but there were other occasions where what we were told was not accurate and a couple of occasions where people did not ring us back despite telling us that they would. Overall, everything was sorted out and the doors are great, but it was harder work than we felt it should have been to get accurate information and updates when dealing with the problem.
Work was carried out efficiently.
I have said yes to recommending the contractor, but only on the understanding that the two specific fitters I requested undertook the work. They were excellent, very good workers, clean and tidy and turned up on time

Kevin and Casey, the installers, did a first class job of putting in the new windows, window sills, and front door. They were diligent and conscientious; their workmanship is excellent; they were fast and efficient; they were the tidiest of any trades people I have dealt with before; and they were very friendly and helpful.
Very professionall work done for us
I have the installation I wanted and requested at least a year after I wanted and requested it! It took at least 4 visits to fit the window to the original specification (a hinged, outward opening top window), and without a subsequent fault to the left opening hinge. I did have to chase customer service department each time to secure a specific date and time for each visit.
I guess it was unfortunate that these faults were more to do with the actual manufacture of the window rather than the contractors, hence I haven’t marked the contractors down.
Would I recommend the manufacturer of the window? No.

The workmen arrived on time and worked hard and tidily. We were very happy with their workmanship.The windows should have been installed on another date. Head office in Clevedon arranged this and we waited in all day. Eventually we found out that the glass had not been made and so windows couldn�t be fitted on the arranged day.

There was an initial problem with the wrong window being sent to the installers, and delays due to that mistake, which greatly delayed the installation. However, the customer service and office staff of the local office in Hayle, particularly Rachel, were very helpful and the window was subsequently installed.
The window installers arrived as agreed, the windows appear well made, installation was done very professionally and without any mess. I would not hesitate to use them again.
Slow to respond to complaints.Bits of wall chipped out so had / have to redecorate each room.Difficulty getting to respond when work first completed.Coffee spilt over childs desk and floor and not cleaned up.Jury still out on effectiveness of front windows as can feel cold air when wind blowing.
The workmanship rating is reduced due to some problems with the standard of mastic pointing but these were satisfactorily resolved promptly on being raised.
Window fitters were excellent
There were quite a lot of snags that needed attending to which were all mostly done in time. However, we’re still waiting for a sill end cap for the front door, a large patio door glass has cracked again in exactly the same place as before and we are getting a breeze through the beading corner joints in the lounge window which isn’t good for heat retention. All these have been reported and we are awaiting a remedial visit, hopefully early in the New Year (2025). We also asked for six identical keys for the front and side door and have only been given three.
Efficient, friendly service from start to finish both at the sales and installation stages. Only slightly negative feed back is as follows:1. The surveyor was not forthcoming with a date, I had to chase.2. The payment demands from a central organisation are somewhat anonymous leaving you asking questions as to whether you are paying the right organisation. In my opinion the invoices should be attached to an explanatory personal email from CTG themselves to avoid any confusion.

The contractors carrying out the work were excellent.They explained what the job entailed, & were polite.They did an excellent job, cleaned and tidied up after themselves & made sure I could open the door etc. The old doors had a down pipe right next to it that had to be moved, the wooden blocks it had been attached to had rotted; they tidied up the area & made sure that the pipe was firmly installed before leaving.I hope the same contractors replace the front door when it arrives, they are very professional
Having had a conservatory supplied and erected by CTG a few years ago, and following the excellent service we had to iron out some initial snags, we had no hesitation in calling on CTG when our bedroom tilt & turn windows needed replacing. CTG produces an excellent product and their service is second to none ! I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who requires any to do with double glazing. Thank you.

Outstanding product and service.
Ctg let us down. 90 % of the job was finished on time but 2 windows were the wrong glass type. The issue was found by the fitter but they fitted them anyway. It took us 2weeks of chasing to get a date for the replacements. CTG seemed happy to wait. When we chase again to confirm fitting on the day the glass was scheduled to arrive with the supplier they advised it hadn’t arrived, again seeming like it wasn’t an issue. Finally when the glass did arrive and was fitted (one month after the initial fitting) the fitter was in such a rush to get away that he didn’t do a quality check and left debri

The slope on the outside window ledge is inadequate to allow proper rainwater drainage.

Contractors all very pleasant, shame about the delays in the patio doors arriving.
At the beginning of the contract, the contractor was very good. 2 windows installed. However, I was told that the lounge window (a bay window) had some issues and that they wouldn�t be completing the work that day. This was in April. The window fitters left and I heard nothing. No updates or communication about what the issue was or when it would be completed. The next week, I rang about four times and eventually managed to get through to someone who said that the issue had been sorted and that they could come. They came and again an issue arose. No windows that day. No communication to up
The company is extremely unreliable and do not care about their customers.
The first two window installers and the subsequent Service Engineer did an unsatisfactory job but the two vastly experienced replacement installers rectified the problems.

Excellent fitters eventually. Contractor cancelled two appointments for fitting due to sickness, which caused us some inconvenience. Outside window cills do not slope enough and are slow to drain water away.
I know I ordered a large window but waiting from August 2022 to February 2023 I thing was rather a excessive length of time to wait for the fitting which was very good .
The fitters, Dan and Lee were outstanding in their focus, professionalism and ensuring that the deficits of the survey were addressed. They went the extra mile and restored our confidence.However the communication between CTG and Bristol HQ was appalling and from an operational perspective needs to be urgently addressed. We paid for the first deposit in September and had no communication about a date for a fit until l started making weekly calls to CTG from January 2023 every Friday. I was given a for early March, took time off work, travelled 302 miles to be there and informed 36 hours befor
Reliability and timekeeping have a lower rating due to the planned installation date of 16 Nov being cancelled because the replacement window sizes appeared to be wrong. Subsequently, those same windows were satisfactorily fitted on the 5 & 6 Dec by the window surveyor himself.
Before ordering I specified a certain opening, in August 2022. They cancelled the install date in December the morning they were supposed to turn up, and then pushed me to the back of the queue, instead of stalling for two days they wanted to stall by weeks. It was booked for early Feb, the installation company didn’t know, so it had to be stalled for another four weeks – to a date when I could not attend – now early March 23. I arranged for my neighbour to oversea the install. They thankfully did turn up, but the specified opening wasn’t built, so I had to accept what they had. The install is
The window installer was excellent. The people who we bought the windows off were truly awful- you should get rid of them. Specifically Diane in the office actively stands in the way of people getting their windows. We only managed to get ours by threatening them with small claims court. Disgusting company.
I have been unable to fill in the details requested as it’s a complicated situation. The final result we are pleased with and Rob’s customer service has been exemplary. However it has been a long road to get here – wrong size frame for the sliding doors, broken glass window panes which had to be installed, other glass broken during installation, missed installation appointment due to miscommunication between head office and local branch. Quite substantial but as I said – the final product we are very pleased with!
First door either measured or made incorrectly and did not fit properly. Took three months for a replacement which was fitted incorrectly with the wrong depth sill and not straight. New door finally fitted correctly a week later so from order confirmation to final fitting took six months. At no point did anyone from CTG contact me about this regarding timescales etc and I had to do all the chasing with no apology offered. Such a shame as the fitted product and door quality is excellent, along with the aftercare provided.

Two of the windows had to be redone four times before they were manufactured correctly and held up our bedroom refurbishment for months.
I don’t know with CTG who the actual contractor is? Further my title is Mrs and I want this used especially with a building certificate and my house name, for the tenth time, is Cosy Cottage, not Cozy Cottage!In truth, do I believe that these errors will be corrected …. NO!
I thought ctg was great in the past, but this time i used them i have lost my confidence in their communication in house. The salesman did not relay apparently messages and the surveyor informed me that the job would be completed to a higher standard than the fitters expected. The wrongs were righted, and customer services were polite, but i feel this has let them down. I would use the company again, but warily.

The professionalism and excellent customer service shown by all staff at CTG & St Ives Window company from initial contact to installation is second to none it cannot be faulted. CTG fitted all my windows and doors 24 years ago and to their merrit have stood the test of time, recent replacement of back doors and windows (fitted by another company) have shown the company ethos where these key elements of their business to their credit have clearly not changed. Thank you to all involved, would highly recomend.

I have no fault with the three fitters, they were courteous and clean, and they worked around my requests, helping me remove the blinds i couldnt get down, they even filled some holes that were not their doing, they were brilliant. There was a long time delay between ordering and installation possible due to Brexit and Covid. Once the work began it was completely quickly and we are pleased with the finish.

Recommendation of “yes” above only holds good if best installation team is employed.Our ratings above refer to the original, very poor team of installers, whose work has eventually been rectified.
I have reluctantly given the low score for timekeeping as the installation took 9 months from signing the contract to completion of installation. I know this was no fault of CTG Windows but was due to supply problems and in fact CTG kept me informed of progress all the way. It�s unfortunate Reliability and Timekeeping are grouped together for this survey as I would have given reliability full marks for keeping me informed.
The score of 10 given for workmanship standards relates solely to the CTG fitters, and not to the manufacturer of the 2 UPVC doors. The welds had not been deburred and the sharp plastic burrs caused cuts to my fingers. The Quality Control person must have been on holiday when they were manufactured !! Someone from CTG came and rubbed them down but this has left some surface scratches in places, which I will live with.
The contractor had poor communication.The fitters were excellent. With no complaints.
There was a 6 month timescale from ordering to fitting. I was kept informed and in light of the current COVID related difficulties, I did understand this to some degree. It did cause inconvenience however as was the final element in a refurbishment for holiday letting.

All the contractors I have dealt with have been very professional and polite. Apart from the man who was supposed to come and do the final measurements. He did not want to come out as he said he had more important things to do than measuring and he called me a liar about the areas he had to measure.. I very nearly cancelled the order.
