The manufacture's lead in period prior to the installation was very long - 8 months - and there were two abortive slots for the installation to take place - one was due to poor weather, the other, poor planning. but once the installation took place, my understanding is that it went well and judging by the photographs, a good job was done.

The roof work was very professional, but the finishing and mess were disappointing.

Only issue was with protecting carpets etc during work - no protection was put on stair carpeting although workmen were in and out from flat roof directly onto stair carpet constantly.

Communication from the office was not as good as I would have liked; the start of works was delayed for a variety of legitimate reasons at the contractor's end but on each occasion I had to inquire whilst it would have been better if I had been kept informed.

The installer did not offer a on-site survey for a product which clearly needed site inspection. The product was ordered based on our measurements and wants, it was only found at the time of installation that the velux window ordered could not be installed due to roof structure constraints. This lead to a lot of delay and we had to agree on a replacement window under time pressure. The roofer had even cut out the wrong size to fit the window. The company did not stick to agreed timelines, the first time around the installers turned up 3 days early after having rescheduled the installation due to weather. Luckily we we were working from home and could accommodate them. The second time around I had to chase the product and installation and finally the work was done 1 week later than agreed.

Although it took a while for parts to arrive for the installation, I was kept informed .
The fitters arrived at 9.30 and completed the job in around 1.5hours.
Cleaned up after them.
Very pleased with quality of work.
Would use again when needed.

The installer was helpful, knowledgeable and worked to a high standard.

Would have appreciated information about how the booking-in process works from the start, and much earlier, proactive, notification that the work was not going to be able to be done in the previously-discussed timescale.

There was a lot of chasing up on our part to get basic information. The office was helpful, but as stated we felt certain information [chasing the quote, chasing dates, requesting copy of insurance cert, chasing confirmation of scaffolding shouldn't be long or a problem].
However, with that said - the scaffolders were brilliant in putting up the scaffolding [at the time of sending this awaiting a date for the scaffold to come down]. The contractors who actually attended to carry out the removal of old skylight & install of new Velux were absolutely brilliant - hence the rating. Based on Aaron & Rowan [roofers] we would highly recommend this contractor London & Kent Roofing Ltd.

From their customer service to their workmen, London and Kent are a highly professional and impressive company.

Both head office and the workmen were friendly and got the job done. Slight issues with communication and scheduling, but nothing that couldn't be fixed.

I don't feel I was recommended the best product for a window ( I should have been recommended a top hung as opposed to centre pivot for access to the handle). I didn't realise until after.
A window spec changed to PVC when I requested white painted. I did not realise this. So perhaps more communication with the customer.
