The Gutter and Cladding Company have been diabolical from start (Sep 2022) to finish (Feb 2024), a job which they said would "take three days". Numerous issues:
1) They did not use a qualified Surveyor (so I later found out), they missed/'forgot' numerous appointments (but failed to inform me as their customer).
2) They broke windows as they fitted them, they fitted all privacy glass the wrong way round. Some windows were the wrong size when delivered.
3) All the windows were fitted incorrectly and hadn't been screwed to the structure of the house. An upstairs window had the wrong cill installed, exposing the house structure.
4) They don't have a Dispute Resolution Policy.
5) It has taken me three phone calls (since 23 Feb 24) to get them to submit the Certass paperwork.
All the lads who work.for the company are polite, tidy and friendly. We had a couple of communication issues however these were eventually solved. Our house has been transformed and looks fabulous. Thank you to the team at Gutter and Cladding company!
The Windows were fitted to a poor standard and we had to call them out to rectify poor workmanship on a number of occasions.
They haven’t finished the job and the chap that organised the installs has left and we have been left hanging with incomplete work
I thought my job was poor.
Very mixed experience…. Poor measuring and mistakes caused lengthy delays on doors in particular and cladding. Trades that installed windows and cladding were reliable and trustworthy.
Office admin staff were helpful but operations were not. We got there in the end.
The installation and workmanship was to a very good standard and the installers were organised and polite. The lower scores reflect generally poor communication from the office and changing dates too many times.
Time lines were all wrong after taking deposit in November then started work in April, expect a 12 week lead time, this was doubled then the job was half done as they ran out of material, job ot self we are more than happy with apart from a slight complaint with the porch brick work which was sorted.
As much as I would love to give them a decent rating I just can't justify it considering the hassle we have been through....
Endless delays, and barely any communication. Days when nobody had turned up and we had prepared and cleared whole rooms ready for the work. Not much fun with small children in the house.
Poor workmanship which meant we had to call and have someone come and rectify. And although this has now been completed to a satisfactory standard I don't think it is fair to expect the customer to have to deal with this.
Floor in conservatory left extremely muddy from boots in and out of the muddy garden. We spent the evening cleaning after they had left.
I would like to say that the people who came to the house we're all very nice people, this is not a personal attack on anybody
Significantly substandard work was conducted initially, rubble left on our property, work visibly unfinished.
Flagged the same day to the company (inc images etc) only to be met with little to no communication from them, little effort to resolve, the only focus for them it seemed was chasing for invoice payment. After weeks and weeks of us chasing and seeking resolve, we eventually realised, to our disbelief, that rectifying work had been attempted on our property without our knowledge or permission. As soon as we discovered this, we immediately called management, only to be met with yet more excuses and insincerity. This battle continued until eventually, weeks later, management finally acknowledged the work was unsatisfactory and sought to start the work over. Very stressful journey.
Clean and tidy, very conciensous of our property.
Overall, a friendly company with easy communication. Although we had issues which needed to be rectified these were resolved quickly when raised with the company. We have asked them back to quote for further work we require done.
The only reason i have given a 7 on the customer service is because it has taken 5 telephone conversations to get a Certass cert:
