Membership of a certification scheme is not automatic. Members of a scheme must comply with strict conditions of membership and adhere to laid down standards.
Certification scheme operators must also adhere to strict conditions under their operating licence and accreditation. Therefore, they can, and do, remove companies from certification where such conditions are breached.
